Denise has been in cosmetology since 1979, including salon service as well as obtaining her instructor license, teaching at cosmetology school, and in 1991, Denise started her own salon, Mahogany, with a vision for artistry, quality, consistency, and energy, all rooted in the shared humanity of her clients and her team.

Her two driving passions for the business are: to create a salon experience that earns the loyalty of her clients; and to fulfill her sense of responsibility to her team, providing them with what they need to grow as professionals and as individuals.

Denise's sensibilities and taste arise from a rich weave of self-invention and life experience. Denise was born in California, then raised in heritage-rich small town Maine by a watchmaker/Navy man, and a Texas-born mother, who was steeped in big city style that required being modern and meticulously coiffed (delivering the corresponding fun of those rituals). Denise has been a lover of travel and lived around the United States (Florida, Rhode Island, Alaska). Her roots in Maine, as well as her travel, have always involved her love of sailing and her love of raising and showing horses, while teaching her children these joys.

Even Mahogany's home itself weaves past and present in ways seemingly meant to be. As a young child house-hunting with her parents, Denise visited 63 Elm Street in Camden. Denise's mother was used to Texas ranch-style and did not warm to the multi-story New England cape. Years later, when Denise was seeking a home for Mahogany, she made a fascinating discovery. The first deed for 63 Elm Street was registered by her very own great great great great grandfather an original Camden settler, James Richards. As one of Camden's early forefathers, James Richards named Mt. Battie after his wife Betty. Denise gazes at Mt. Battie from the chair where she has practiced her craft all of these years.

Mahogany has always been a home to Logan. Having spent much of her childhood watching her mother create beautiful hair as well as run a successful business, became her inspiration. Although she originally turned to her love of horses as an initial career path, it wasn't long, before Logan realized her true calling was to be a stylist.

Since then, Logan has been designing beautiful hair for over fifteen years. She has become a life-long learner, and in that pursuit has traveled all over the country researching and gaining knowledge within her craft. She has discovered her passions to be color and hair extensions, and Logan has focused on advanced training and certifications within those areas. For example, in recent years she has traveled to London for an immersive experience with a "visionary educator in the field of styling, color, and salon development." When not traveling or attending in-person classes, Logan is constantly researching and learning on her own. Through all of this, she has become a master stylist and extension specialist.

Kelly's positive attitude and "glass half full" look on life is one of the pillars of Mahogany culture. She is the cheerleader of the group, always upbeat, energetic, truly kind and loving. "I know it's kind of cheesy, but I'm just a positive person. I come in with a good day."

"Family" is a theme for Kelly and as the youngest of five children, she knows the value and meaning of hard work and teamwork. She believes that Mahogany is her extended family and that she has grown up at this salon. This is where Kelly has built her career, met her husband and started her family.

Mahogany's reputation for being a premiere hair salon motivates Kelly in her work to not only provide her clientele with high-end services but create long-running relationships as well. With a passion for hair coloring, Kelly loves creating a look for each client that they will love well after leaving their appointment.

"Continued education is a strong foundation at Mahogany which allows us to never become complacent and always keep learning." Kelly has been certified in Hairdreams hair extensions and Novalash eyelash extensions on top of the many coloring and cutting courses she has taken over the years at Mahogany Salon. "I love working with a strong group of women who encourage each other and learn from each other."

Amy’s life long passion of becoming a stylist started when she was a young child. She has now been a stylist for over 17 years.

Through her hands on experience Amy has embraced her love for styling and coloring. She is able to incorporate techniques that play to each individuals unique needs. Amy works collaboratively with each of her clients to find a look that enhances their natural beauty and elevates their confidence.

Outside of the Salon Amy devotes her time to her little lobstering family which includes her husband and three young girls. Lobstering alongside her husband has taught her many things including grit and hard work.

Amy’s motto in life- “Life is too short not to laugh, especially at yourself.”
