Salon Policies

Environment

Welcome to Mahogany Salon! We offer a pleasant atmosphere for all of our clients to enjoy. Please be considerate of others and set your cell phone on silent mode. We also ask that any child under the age of 12 who is not receiving salon services must be accompanied by an adult.

Scheduling Appointments

An in-person consultation is required for a client interested in booking an appointment for HIGHLIGHTING or a BLOND COLOR service. A credit card number will be required to schedule an appointment for these services.

An in-person consultation is required for a client interested in booking an appointment for HAIR EXTENSIONS. A $40.00 non-refundable fee will be charged to a credit card at the time of the consultation and will be applied toward the hair extension application if the client chooses to move forward with this service.

Gratuities

Gratuities are appreciated but not expected. If you choose to honor your stylist with a tip, please pay with cash if possible.

Cancellation, Latecomers, and No-shows

We will do our best to accommodate LATECOMERS if the schedule allows. We may ask you to reschedule if you are late 10 minutes or more.

While we understand things happen and things do come up, Mahogany Salon kindly asks that you give us at least a 48 hour notice if you need to make changes or cancel your appointment. This allows our stylists time to contact other clients who are waiting to get in.

Less than 48 hours' notice, will result in a cancellation fee of 70% of the appointment.  No call and no shows will be asked to pay in full for services scheduled by you, to insure a future appointment with Mahogany Salon.

Refund policy ~ exchange policy

Salon Services - We do not offer REFUNDS on salon services. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the service we provided, an adjustment will be considered up to 7 days after the service was performed.

Products - Unopened products may be EXCHANGED in person up to 7 days after purchase for a salon credit.

Privacy Policy

The information we gather from our clients is used to improve their service and send important messages. We do not, under any circumstances, share this information with third-parties.

Scholarship

Mahogany Salon will award a $1000.00 scholarship to an individual attending cosmetology school. Upon completion of the cosmetology program, Mahogany Salon will offer an apprenticeship to the scholarship recipient.

  • All applicants must reside in Maine
  • Applications may be submitted at any time. Applications submitted after June 1st will be considered for the following year.
  • Applicants may be newly enrolled students or currently attending cosmetology school.
  • Write an essay explaining why you are choosing a career in cosmetology and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goal.
  • Scholarship winner will be selected each year on or about June 15th.
  • Scholarship winner will be notified via email. The awarded funds will be paid directly to the institution you are attending.
